Recipes inspired by The Princess and the Frog #FoodnFlix

The Princess and the Frog inspired Recipes for #FoodnFlix
This month I invited the Food 'n Flix club bloggers to join me in the kitchen with the animated Disney flick, The Princess and the Frog. Since it's October, I thought choose something with a little bit of dark magic and a whole lot of good food, in hopes that it would inspire some creative fun in the kitchen!

Our gathering was small but sweet this month with just six offerings...each pulled and influenced by different parts of this classic tale, retold. I hope you'll browse the photos below, and click through to the individual blogs to check out the recipes and the reasoning behind them!

Voodoo Grog aka A Froggy Princess Cocktail by Eliot's Eats
Debra from Eliot's Eats ran with the October theme and Voodoo inspiration from the movie when creating her Voodoo Grog (or a Froggy Princess Cocktail).

Cajun Courtboullion by Culinary Adventures with Camilla
Although Camilla of Culinary Adventures with Camilla admits that her Cajun Courtbouillon may not be totally traditionally, I think it looks packed full of flavor and inspiration! A bowl full of this goodness AND a happy family that enjoyed the flick? It doesn't get much better.

Pumpkin Sludge Cake by Coffee and Casseroles
Kimberly from Coffee and Casseroles drew inspiration from the pumpkins hanging out in the bayou for the Pumpkin Sludge Cake she whipped up (using fresh pumpkin).

Mint Chocolate Chip Brownies or Bijou Brownies by Amy's Cooking Adventures
Amy from Amy's Cooking Adventures whipped up a batch of fudgy Mint Chocolate Chip Brownies or Bijou Brownies ...with Naveen and Tiana in frog form perched on top and sprinkled with "Evangline" stars (plus she made a Halloween pumpkin that looks like Ray - so cute)!

Jambalaya by A Day in the Life on the Farm
Wendy from A Day in the Life on the Farm explored the differences between Paella and Jambalaya in her post this month (she came to the conclusion there are 2 major differences). They're both comfort food to me!

Bananas Foster inspired by The Princess and the Frog #FoodnFlix #GrimmGrub
I'll round things out with my Louis the Jazz Playin' Alligator inspired, classic New Orleans dessert - Bananas Foster (with Pralines sprinkled on top)!

Thanks so much for joining me during this month's edition of the Food 'n Flix Club - thanks for all of the fun and inspired The Princess and the Frog submissions!

Be sure to join us in the kitchen next month as we create recipes inspired by the Swedish film, adapted from the book by the same name, A Man Called Ove, with our host Wendy of A Day in the Life on the Farm.
