In the kitchen with This Beautiful Fantastic | #FoodnFlix!

This Beautiful Fantastic at allroadsleadtothe.kitchen for #foodnflix
I can hardly believe I'm about to say this, but...happy June! Somehow 6 months have passed since I've shared a new post (or even opened a computer for that matter). In that time frame (back in February), All Roads Lead to the Kitchen turned 10 years old! Life changes a lot in 10 years. Like anything does over time, this blog has gone through some peaks and some lulls. I'm extremely grateful for all of those times, and to everybody who has checked on me while the blog has been quiet. One of those people is an old blogging buddy, Camilla from Culinary Adventures with Camilla who has been holding down the fort over at my other blog space, Food 'n Flix (which celebrates 9 years this coming September!).

And as you probably surmised by now, that other long-term project that I hold so dear has enticed me out of my lull. The other Food 'n Flix bloggers have created some fun and inspired recipes over the past 6 months that you should definitely go check out if you haven't been following along. I'm bummed that I missed the deadline to create a recipe from one of mine and my daughter's favorite musicals, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which Wendy from A Day in the Life on the Farm hosted last month (but I do plan on sharing something from it soon, anyway). That said, I'm tickled to be hosting Food 'n Flix this month with a cute, quirky film that I happened across on Hulu not so long ago called This Beautiful Fantastic.

While This Beautiful Fantastic probably wouldn't be classified as a "foodie movie", food holds a fairly prominent spot in the story, so there is plenty of inspiration to be found. Along with it comes a touching story of friendship and discovery amidst a lush visual background and actors that wear their roles to a T.

It's been several months since I watched it that first time, so I'm looking forward to watching it again - this time, with pen in hand to record that inspiration I felt the first time I saw it. I hope you'll join me!
