Slow Cooker Cranberry Barbecue Turkey Meatballs + Instant Pot #Giveaway

Slow Cooker Cranberry Barbecue Turkey Meatballs
Tis the season for parties and get-togethers, and today I'm joining The Redhead Baker and a handful of other bloggers to help Coleen celebrate her 5th blogging anniversary. Along with sharing recipes fit for a party or celebration, we also have a great giveaway (an Instant Pot + $50 Amazon card) - just scroll down to the giveaway widget to enter.

This time of year there are all sorts of opportunities to test out new recipes on your loved ones, and that's what I did with these meatballs. I'm always looking for some recipes that are both tasty and simple (fast with minimal effort) to keep in my back pocket, because sometimes I just need something easy.
Slow Cooker Cranberry Barbecue Turkey Meatballs
Meatballs are always a hit, and these are a play on the ever-popular grape jelly meatballs. Three simple ingredients...turkey meatballs, jellied cranberry sauce, and barbecue sauce...a slow cooker and a few hours (entirely unattended) are all you'll need to make this appetizer recipe that is perfect for a holiday gathering or potluck!

If you ask me, these meatballs alone might even be a reason for having a party.

Slow cooker turkey meatballs smothered in a combination of jellied cranberry sauce and barbecue sauce make a delicious and easy appetizer recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place the meatballs in the crock of a slow cooker. Stir together the jellied cranberry sauce and barbecue sauce until smooth.
  2. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and cover. Cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
Notes:
  1. I use 1 bag of Butterball Natural Inspirations Bite-Sized Turkey Meatballs, but you could use homemade meatballs, if you like. Make them using about 1 1/2 pounds of ground turkey (plus whatever else you put in your meatballs). Roll them into 50 bite-sized meatballs and brown in a skillet or in the oven before proceeding with recipe.
  2. You can substitute 1 (14 ounce) can of jellied cranberry sauce for the homemade.
  3. Use your favorite barbecue sauce here, but I think it's nice to add something a little smoky, a little spicy, or both. Stubb's Sweet Heat is a delicious choice.
