Love Potion cocktail | #SheMadeEllaHace

It's time for another round of She Made, Ella Hace with my friend Leslie from La Cocina de Leslie, and this month, we're creating Valentine's Day inspired recipes. Even though we had this planned in advance, today really snuck up on me, and I was scrambling last minute to create something.

As often happens in this case, I decided a cocktail would be the way to go. But not just any cocktail, one made with raspberries which, aside from being a beautiful shade of red, are said to be a love-inducing food. This is probably because they are associated with the planet Venus, and in Roman mythology, Venus was the goddess of love, beauty, desire, and fertility (among other things).

So, why not conjure up this simple raspberry-infused cocktail while saying a little love spell this Valentine's Day? If booze isn't our thing, you could leave out the raspberry liqueur, and still have a lightly sweetened raspberry tinged sparkling beverage to enjoy. Surround your glass with rose quartz, or other symbols associated with love and the heart, for super-charged results.

I hope you'll drop by and check out this Banana Pudding that Leslie brought to the table today. Talk about romance-inducing food!

She Made, Ella Hace - the series
What happens when two American girls who are both married to Mexican guys find out that although one of them lives in the U.S. and one of them lives in Mexico, they both love eating the same food? Well, naturally they decide to hang out in the kitchen.

Leslie and I have teamed up to occasionally make a our own versions of the same dish. We want to see how similar (or how different) they turn out. Other times we will pick an ingredient and see what each other make from it. Good food knows no borders and we hope to share the food we love with you.
